The TCM5-25 tank-container, designed by the Russia's Metal & Composite Structures, Ltd ('Metalcomposite'), is suitable for the safe transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases and ammonia by road, rail or sea and for the temporary storage of these cargoes.

There are four modifications of the TCM5-25 tank-container:

The TCM5-25A is designed for the transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases only. Loading/discharge is through the top inlet/outlet.

The TCM5-25B is designed for the transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases and liquefied ammonia. Loading/discharge is through the top inlet/outlet.

The TCM5-25C is designed for the transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases only. Loading/discharge is through the bottom inlet/outlet.

The TCM5-25D is designed for the transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases and also liquefied ammonia. Loading/discharge is through the bottom inlet/outlet.

The tank container is to the dimensions recommended by the ICC and belongs to the IMO5 class of tank container and meets the requirements of Russian national and ISO standards, international conventions and agreements on tank containers.

Loading /discharge of liquefied gas is carried out by pumping it under pressure through the liquid phase loading /discharge device. Vapors from the cargo are held inside the tank at discharging and are removed from it at loading through the vapor recovery device.

The TCM5-25 Series Conforms to the Following Design Codes, International Rules and Standards:

1. Rules of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) on manufacturing of containers (Rules of the Lloyd's Register are taken into account).

2. International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code. (IMDG-Code).

3. Regulation, concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID).

4. European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).

5. International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC).

6. Customs Convention on Containers.

7. The International standards ISO 668:1995, ISO 1496-3:1995, ISO 6346:1995, ISO 1161:1984.

8. Design codes:

- ASME Sect. VIII, div. 1:

- The Russian National Standards: GOST 14249-89 (Provisions for strength calculations of pressure vessels), OST 26 291-94 (Requirements to design, materials and manufacture of pressure vessels).
